This past weekend Chesapeake Harvest took part in the Star Democrat’s successful Home Show at the Talbot County Recreation Center. Featuring over 20 local farmers, food/beverage vendors, and chefs, Chesapeake Harvest presented their online farmer’s market partners in an indoor market setting.
There were fun and informative cooking demonstrations with Chef Steve Konopelski of Turnbridge Point and Chef Sam Sharoky of Blue Shore Kitchen teaching delicious recipes using Easton’s Butter Pat Industries cast iron pans. All in attendance were treated to Chef Steve’s sausage and gravy biscuits and beer bread; and Chef Sam’s creamy mac and cheese.
The owner of Butter Pat Industries, Dennis Powell, and Chef Steve entertained the audience on Saturday with the history and benefits of Dennis’ cast iron pans. Chef Sam and his wife/business partner, Pilee Blue, showed how to bring people closer together around the dining room table through top quality ingredients found on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Beautiful flowers, herbs, fresh produce, and delicious foods and beverages were available for purchase. All the items represented at the show on Saturday, are available on Chesapeake Harvest’s online market.
