Easton Economic Development Corporation
The Easton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2013, was created to promote economic vitality, smart redevelopment, and business formation in order to foster a healthy quality of life for all generations. The EEDC works towards maintaining Easton’s continued growth as a diverse, healthy and smart town, leading innovation where the land and water meet. The EEDC seeks to support and enhance the region’s rich agricultural and seafood heritage through a variety of projects, including the development of Chesapeake Harvest – a food hub to connect local food producers to unmet demand for healthy, local foods within a 200-mile food-shed area and attracting and supporting healthy food producer businesses.
Chesapeake Culinary Center
Chesapeake Culinary Center is a grassroots, community-driven nonprofit organization that offers a positive culinary learning experience for students, and a professionally trained workforce for the industry. Chesapeake Culinary Center trains youth, students, and adults and offers the community a catering service that allows students to have real-world learning experiences in the industry.
Eastern Shore Land Conservancy
The Eastern Shore Land Conservancy preserves land on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in order to keep prime farmland in agriculture, protecting unique natural areas. The organization supports strong towns, coastal resilience, land use policy and environmental education.
Future Harvest-Chesapeake Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture
Future Harvest CASA provides education, networking, and advocacy to help build a sustainable Chesapeake foodshed, where food flows from farm and fishery to table in ways that strengthen farming and the regional food economy; protecting our land, water, and air; and provide healthy, nutritious food that sustains the region’s communities and cities.
Homestead Gardens
Homestead Gardens is a Davidsonville based garden supply and nursery landscaping business. Homestead Gardens will sell Chesapeake Harvest starter plants beginning in Spring 2018.
Mid-Shore Regional Council
The Mid-Shore Regional Council operates as a cooperative regional planning and development agency within Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot Counties to foster physical, economic and social development. The Council initiates and coordinates plans and projects for the development of human and economic resources.
Tidal Creek Growers
Tidal Creek Growers is a Cecil County, Maryland based plant production company. Tidal Creek has partnered with Chesapeake Harvest to offer a Chesapeake Harvest branded starter plant line.
Town Creek Foundation
The Town Creek Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation dedicated to a sustainable environment. Town Creek supported the early development of Chesapeake Harvest.
The Town of Easton
The Town of Easton – Founded in 1710, the historic town of Easton is home to 16,500 residents. It is a central location for visitors exploring the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The town has an airport, hospital, art museum, historic theatre that draws national performers and a charming historic downtown district.
USDA Agricultural Marketing Service
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service’s programs create marketing opportunities for US producers. USDA supported Chesapeake Harvest through a Local Food Promotion Program grant in 2016.
